Bob Dwyer is a freelance writer and broadcaster with more than 30 years experience in the field of Popular Music, Arts and Entertainment.
As a Feature Writer, Book Critic and Performing Arts Reviewer, Bob has contributed extensively to provincial publications throughout the UK as well as to many of the better known regional daily newspapers, including: The Birmingham Post, Leicester Mercury, Kettering Evening Telegraph and the Northampton Chronicle & Echo.
Bob’s comedy scriptwriting earned him Commissions from both BBC TV and Thames Television where he collaborated with top Light Entertainment Producers, including the late Michael Mills, to develop material for the likes of Frankie Howerd and Leonard Rossiter.
His introduction to radio came in the early 1970’s when he became a regular contributor to LBC’s fledgling Arts Review programme, ‘Sound’s New’, working alongside the show’s regular presenters, Sarah Dickinson, Tony Palmer and Sheridan Morley.
In addition to radio Features for the BBC in Norwich, Bob has also appeared on BBC TV East’s Arts Magazine programme ‘On Camera’ and co-produced and presented BBC Radio Leicester’s Arts Magazine show, ‘In Print’.
Bob, is married with two grown-up sons, and now lives in Southern Spain, with his wife, Noelle and their black dog, Charlie, where his work, including ‘The Black Dog Diaries’ is regularly featured in the Sol Times, Sol Times Xtra and Calida editions.
